What an unbelievable finish to today's game, with an 11th hour, last-minute, down-to-the-wire goal to tie up the game and dash USA's hopes of easy entry into the group of 16.

So nothing's decided, and in a best-case/worst-case scenario, a draw in the Germany-USA match will ensure that both teams advance, regardless of the result in the Portugal-Ghana match. Even more exciting? Both of those games are this Thursday at 1pm local (noon Eastern), so everything will be decided simultaneously. I'm very excited for the coming week of football.

Exciting for sure. But I would be much happier of the USA just took it. But definitely a suprising set up to finish. Should be good.

Clint Dempsey is like a human battering ram. Gets kicked in the face and ankle-stomped but makes two goals in two games.

I only caught the last 15 + 5 minutes of the USA game today, but that late check in the corner by the second Portugal player was a bit ugly. Should have been a free kick, or even a yellow card.

A heartbreaking loss, to be sure. We watched the game, and I was jumping up and down in my living room when USA went up 2-1. And I almost cried when Portugal pulled even on the last play of the game. But that was world-class stuff from Ronaldo. He made a lot of bad shots, but that ball into the box was pure gold. So now I've got to say, "Go Portugal!!"

The USA fans at the stadium looked absolutely crushed. I feel sorry for them, but at the same time, I don't want USA to win this week...
